Below is the question about Really High Idle On My Carb After,

My carburetor works perfect till i drive it on the highway and when i put her in park it is in a real high idle so have to readjust the carb again can somebody help its a edelbrock carb 1405 manual choke on a 350

    You have 2 set screws at the base of the carb that may or may not be covered by metal plugs.If they are,pry out the plugs with a flat screwdriver.Run your screws all the way in till they bottom out.Now run them both 2 1/2 turns out each.Use that as your base idle and adjust from there.Remember to adjust each equally.

    Don’t start messing with idle air mixture screws.
    Check the choke cable to make sure the choke is opening ALL the way.
    there is a high idle cam that holds the throttle partially open to increase the idle speed.
    If the choke does not open all the way, the idle will never go down to base idle speed.

    Look on the side of the carburetor that the linkage is on, make sure the high idle cam swings down far enough to go allow the throttle to go to idle.

    Be sure the throttle return spring is strong enough. also that the fast idle cam screw is not holding the throttle open.
