Converting From Electric To Manual Choke Carburetor

Posted in Fuel Systems & Components | Asked on Nov 11, 2010

I was wanting to convert my electric choke Holley carburetor over to a manual choke Edelbrock carburetor. I was wondering if someone could explain how to do this cause I was thinking about doing it but not sure how.

This is a very simple procedure. First you remove the auto choke mechanism. Then buy a manual choke kit from any auto parts store. Next you will have to cut a small hole in the firewall (or use an existing hole). Your choke line will be put through this hole. Then hook up the choke line to the carburetor. On the other end inside the vehicle you will need to find a spot for the choke handle. Bolt it down tight and your set. You can move the handle back and forth to adjust the choke.
