1985 Dodge D150 Factory Carburetor

Below is the question about 1985 Dodge D150 Factory Carburetor,

I have a 1985 Dodge D150 truck. It has a 318 engine in it. When i bought it, the guy said he rebuilt the engine on it, and i looked at the carburetor and it was a Holley 2 barrel. I was wondering if that was the factory carburetor that these trucks came with or not. Thanks.

Nope the holley is not stock…quadra jet is what it came with..

  2. Dodge Man says:

No the Holley was a nice add on to those trucks, it out performed the original Carb and was more reliable than the original one that came on it,the Holley was also a 500 cfm carb which everyone wanted because it added more power to the engine, and the jets coud easily be changed to make it a 550 cfm which is about all that engine could handle stock, good luck.

  3. Done Wrenching says:

It may have had a small 2 bbl carter from the factory.

  4. Eferrell01 says:

There were two carbs for the 318, a Holley 2280 and a Carter BBD. The only trouble is my manual doesn’t identify which engines had which number. I have only seen the Carter on all I have worked on, but the Holley on yours may be original.
