Why Does My 99 4.0L Jeep Cherokee Have No Oil Pressure At Idle
Posted in Crank, Oil and Piston | Asked on Jun 6, 2010I had to go the pressure switch bad at about 85,000 miles and now it has 139,000 miles and decreases when it is warm, the oil pressure to zero and the red light comes on. Could this be a bad sensor or another I’m looking forward to a new pump or main bearings?

It’s usually just a bad sensor. You can remove the sensor and hook up an actual gauge to verify. There is a plastic membrane inside the sensor that usually cracks and gives false readings.
if your engine is making a knocking noise then its bearrings. if its not knocking then could be the pump is bad or dirty. dump afew quarts od tranny fluid after draning the oil run it for awhile like 30 minutes to afew hours and it will clense it or if its bed then you know what ta do.
when u drain the fuild take a good look at it to see if it looks like some one put sparkles in it, the sparkles are tiny metaal flakes from you piston wall or piston. but if its not knocking then u dont need to worry about that. but usually if you start the car and it has presuure and after its warmed up the presure drops thats usually a sign of the rod bearrings
