there is one on the right side of the engine
you need a wrench the size of the oil sensor unscrew the old unit and screw the new unit in wait until the engine is cold and the old is low it can be done in 10 minutes
good luck
First look the part up on http://www.autozone.com for your year make and model car. Then click on “repair information”. It may be accessible under the hood on the top of the engine and would unscrew from the engine after removing the electrical connector. It’s not too bad of a job to attempt because if your able to get it off, you simply screw the new one back on the engine.
For the 4.6Liter DOHC engine, here’s where it’s located:
On your 1997 Cadillac Deville 4.6L SFI DOHC , the Oil Pressure Switch is located:
Under hood, center, front engine area, above oil filter, mounted in block
If this is the correct location, I don’t think you’ll be able to change it without putting the front of the car up on Rhino ramps and you’d need safety jack stands as well. The whole job won’t cost more than $100 for sure, and you may find out what’s really wrong with the car.

Yes and no, if the sending unit is on top, most GM’s are in the back on top of the intake manifold unplug the wire and remove and replace. If the sending unit is on the side of the block you will more than likely have to jack up the car and do it from underneath.Best bet is to call the local Caddy dealership and ask a mech there. He can tell you over the phone where it is.
PS Don’t let them sucker you into the special tool to remove it and don’t use teflon tape, use liquid teflon on the threads
PSS If you lived local to me I would change it for you no cost, and bring the beer also……
