Below is the question about Chvey Truck,350 5.7 2wd,there Are 2 Types Of Knock Sensors How Do I Know Which One I Need,

One is for a truck with over drive and one for one without .i guess my question is how do i know if i have over drive?
92 c1500 ,2wd,automatic,sorry my first try at doing this,my helpers are away for the weekend and Im buying parts,most parts seem to be standard ,but not this one.

    If you have a 5 speed standard trans,then you have overdrive.
    If you have a 4 speed automatic trans,then you have overdrive.

    Jeesh how about some info please–Like the Year! of the vehicle…

    The 4 speed on 5.7 F.I. trucks is also an overdrive.

    My understanding is that there is a year group split on the ignition systems and that determines the knock sensor p/n not the transmission.

    Standard location of knock sensor is on the side of the block forward of the starter and it screws into the water jacket of the block and there will be an anti-freeze spill while changing it. FYI
