How Will California Smog Know That I Have A MagnaFlow HighFlow Catalytic Converter

Below is the question about How Will California Smog Know That I Have A MagnaFlow HighFlow Catalytic Converter,

My car is a 2000 Honda Civic SI and I installed MagnaFlow High-Flow Catalytic Converter a couple months ago but I need to get it smogged soon. This catalytic converter is 49 state legal except California. How will smog know I have it installed? All other mods are street legal and my engine is completely stock. So how will they know because last time I got a smog test I believe they don’t even look under the car and even if they did this catalytic converter looks very similar to stock.

I would just have it smog tested and see what happens. Why worry?

The high flow cat will have different results on the test, and the visual test will key in on that high flow cat. it looks similar but not identical. the smog tech is no dummy, he is trained to notice stuff like that. i am sure that he has seen more than just yours with that cat.
