Lug Pattern Question
Posted in Axles & Driveshaft | Asked on Sep 1, 2010I’m considering buying a used pair of rims. They came off of an 03 Nissan Maxima, and I have an 00 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Would they fit on my car?
According to lugpattern.net both have a lug pattern of 5×114.3 and Offset H, but the Eclipse has a stud size of 12×1.5 and hub/center bore of 67.1, while the Maxima has a stud size of 12×1.25 and hub/center bore of 66.1.
I obviously will make sure by putting them on my car; however, I would hate to travel the very long distance that the seller is from my house without even knowing that they would fit.
Thanks,
Trey

Sounds as though the problem is in the threads per inch on the studs. You may be able to reuse the existing lugs you have if they are the same configuration where they contact the wheel, (many are tapered, (acorn, bulge acorn), or mag.- (flat washer type).
You will have to try them, to check the studs and center bore clearance, since it is smaller.
No They Will not fit for the following reasons.
The hub size is the round hole in the middle of the wheel. If the hole on the new wheel is not as large as yours it will not work as it will not fit on the center piece of the front or rear axle. Yours wheel has a larger center hole, 67.1 and the other wheel is only 66.1, it will not go on at all. Also Different size lugs mean that the lug holes are more than likely different sizes also and since yours is a larger lug hole size your lugs will not go through the smaller holes on the other wheel..
Also when looking at wheels, you need to measure across the lug holes for distance and also the distance between the lug holes. You will more that likely find out that those are not the same also. Also you need to check the measurement on the inside of the wheel from the face where it mounts to the outer rim. If it is wider it will hit inside your wheel well when you turn. Also just putting it on it may hit the suspension, or pivot point for your front wheels.
Find an 00 Mitsubishi eclipse wheel. Don’t try to put one on from a different make car.
They would probably fit but your brake caliper will more then likely rub the rim
