Why Does My Car Keep Overheating After I Changed So Many Parts
Posted in Air Conditioning | Asked on Jan 31, 2012I have a 1999 dodge neon and every time i turn on my AC it starts to overheat,i think i have changed every thing that needs to be changed for exp!
thermostat ( and housing cuz i broke it)
water pump
radiator
radiator cap
both fans
AC condenser
AC compressor
AC accumulator
AC hoses
engine mounts
every time it over heats it throws the coolant back in to the reservoir
and once i tried turning the heat on once when it was heating up but that made it go up faster. just wondering what in the hell it could be!!!!!!

Bad head gasket. AC puts more load on the engine causing more blowby past the gasket causing coolant to blow back into the tank.
This is going to sound really simple, but maybe you don’t have enough freon in your car? You AC needs it to operate. But you have to go somewhere that specializes in AC to get it done because freon is so bad for the environment. They have to dispose of it specially and they’re required by law to check your car for any leaks before they fill it.
HEAD GASKET! and who knows what you find after you remove the cylinder head.
Is that your methodology for finding a problem?
Must have cost a fortune!
Why didn’t you get a cooling specialist to have a look? One might finger the actual problem in 5 minutes flat.
Glad you didn’t try changing tyres!
I’d change your adviser, anyway. If that’s you, sack yourself.
