Below is the question about Anybody Know Why My A/C Compressor Doesnt Start Or Kick In,

My car is a honda civic ex 2000. It was in an accident where the ac condenser and ac fan, ac hoses and ac compressor mount(or bracket) were all damaged and replaced. The mechanic tested it for leaks and said it looked good and filled it with freon but when i tried to start the ac the compressor (clutch?) didnt start.
he said it might be an electrical problem, fuse, relay ?? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  1. Greenman says:

He may be right but remember a/c doesn’t usually work under 70 degrees it 10 degrees where I am so you see why I say this.

  2. Din says:

Could be your compressor clutch bearing damage, wiring problems, need to direct short circuit, every a/c compressor requires oil inside-could be 1 of the factor causes.Check the oil

  3. Howard L says:

The best help I can give you is find a new mechanic if yours can’t diagnose what should be a very simple fault.

  4. Pat says:

It may still have a leak and the low pressure cut out switch will not allow it to kick in…
I fail to understand why if all this work was done the A/C does not work… you will need
it to work in the winter time on Defrost so it can remove the moisture from the air and
keep you windshield clear.. (yes, all HVAC systems run the A/C in Defrost mode)…
It will have to be checked for a signal to the compressor clutch to energize the system..
