When the radiator goes, it has no impact on the head gasket. The transmission is totally separate from both. It sounds like the mechanic who fixed the rad, created more problems in hopes of getting more business. Find a competent mechanic at a Honda dealership and get the car put back into condition by competent people.

These guys are right it's about a $300 car at the yard. Before you take it in though it would be a good idea to take a look on ebay and be sure there aren't any parts on your car that you can pull off and sell for a few bucks. That is assuming you sell on ebay, even if you don't it's not that hard.

Anyway, the scrap yard will probably not care if you strip some parts off, like console trim, stereo, switches/bezels, emblems, anything, just do a parts search for a 99 altima, I'm not saying you will get an extra 500 but even if you find another 150 in parts you can sell easily it's worth your time before you haul the car in.

I'm assuming you didn't carry insurance on this car and can't file a claim to have the car repaired.

Selling it to a junk yard will get you about $300. You can try to sell it through Craigslist but it probably won't get you much more.

Average junk yard will give you between 100 and 300.

Try your local craigslist.

Modulator diaphram is broken.
real easy to fix. just replace it.....its on the outside of the trans. go buy one and crawl under the trans and replace it. remember to hook up the hose.
smoke goes away, trans shifts good

A full oil charge is 7 ounces for that system. I normally run 8 ounces, as Ford tends to underlubricate. The accumulator is huge on these systems, and the extra ounce is just insurance, really. I put 4 in the compressor and 4 in the accumulator. The green dye is the oil in that system. The new PAG oil you get won't have that in it, so for leak detection purposes, it may be a good idea to add some u/v dye in with the new PAG oil. I will assume the old comp failed, since the comp, accum, and liquid line are the correct parts to be replacing for a comp failure. Just be darn sure to flush the evap, cond, and manifold lines to get rid of any contaminants left from the old comp, and evacuate the system for 30 min to pull any moisture out before charging. This way you know you have a clean, dry system, and are also sure how much oil to add. Which would be a full charge, in this case.

Well, the green dye actually was oil, and the figure depends on some variables ,so...
Since you got less than 1 ounce out of the old one, I would add 4 oinces to the new one, and since you are changing the dryer, add another 2. That should get you close.
If you are replacing the compressor because it locked up, you need to do other things (flushing and replacing) or it will never be right, just lock up again and cost you more money...
Hope it helps....
