What’s The Best Steering System For 15 Foot Tri Hull With 45 Hp Motor

Below is the question about What’s The Best Steering System For 15 Foot Tri Hull With 45 Hp Motor,

I have a 1975 glastron v-156 with a 45hp chrysler outboard. boat’s original owner removed all steering components and rigged a tiller arm. I want to put steering back in but am unsure as to the best system for this boat. I know that a cable and pulley system is too old and probly not the best but there are so many other single cable systems I am not sure which would be best for my situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I would also like the system to be relatively easy to install and keep maintained. Thanks for the help..

just get a teleflex nfb cable drive

Telefex QT system will handle this HP with no problem. However, You need a steering wheel, and a “mounting kit at the motor” Then you need a control box for the gear shift cables . The cables themselves need to have the correct length, that you need to measure. I’m assuming that there is a
dashboard where the original steering was located, as you need a strong mounting for the helm unit. All of this can cost upwards of $300 USD for just the steering and another $150 USD for the shifter and cables.

    I hope this helps
