Kia Rio 04 Allignment Sorta Question
Posted in Steering Component | Asked on Jul 23, 2010Hi..my friend drove on a patch of ice and managed to hit a sewer drain/curb in the area below the rt front headlight..
She told me that the car was pulling to the right when she drove it on the highway at like 60.
I figured that she dented the rim or ruined the tire rod end. I removed the wheel and saw where she hit.
She miss the the steering control arms? (or whatever they are called in front)/seemed straight/boots ok. That metal eyelet that people use to tow a car underneath absorbed the blow.
The tire rod end is actually more in the back/toward the rotor in kias. Nothing appeared to be bent.
I put the car in reverse/drove 2 feet/ noticed the steering wheel jerked to the right about 4 inches.
I backed up like 6 ft and steering wheel turned like a half turn..yet tire didn’t turn at all/car appeared to be going straight backwards.
I put the car in park and manually turned the steering column a half turn..the tire turned about 2 inches..so I don’t think any of the steering components are bent/seemed to be turning correctly.
I switched tires frt and back so it isn’t the tires/rim.
Could it just be an allignment problem
