My Jetta TDI Making Wierd Sound…Help

Posted in Brake & Suspension | Asked on Jun 5, 2010
Below is the question about My Jetta TDI Making Wierd Sound…Help,

Well, consider how to deal with a problem with my brakes this week, they found that the brake switch was the problem. While on the way home I started hearing this noise hissing noise from under the hood, so I pull over. I popped the hood and my engine was shaking more than usual and I noticed the noise sound (how loud static with a small cord poping sound every so often) from the passenger side of the car. I see alternator and shaking. A few days ago I had a friend for a diagnostic on my check engine light and they said I needed a glo-plug, so I seem to 4 from the dealership, but I hear the sound doesn’t come from the engine itself. The sound seems to come from the belt area, but I can not say whether his coming of the generator, exhaust, fuel filter oder.Jede advice would be very appriciated.

  1. Dave N says:

This is a vacuum leak, with the engine cooled, check the hoses carefully. It may be that some fitting is broken off, so lift each hose that you cannot see both ends of-it may have the hidden end just dangling, with the plastic stub still in the end of it.
