will start you in the right direction. Please note that the XJ springs are well known to sag with time. One of the magazines recently had an article on installing a full lift kit on an older project XJ, the lift was advertised as like 4″, and the actual lift was like 8″ because the originally springs had agged so much.

All leaf springs sag over time. Its just the nature of the design and physics.

All leaf spring lifts(whether they are an AAL design of full-pack doesn’t matter) yield more than the advertised lift when first installed. They will settle a bit in the beginning, then slowly more over time. You can help or hurt this with improper loading, overweight hauling/towing, bashing them on off-road obstacles.

Iam not positive Iam a wrangler guy 97 and on, but isnt the lift the leaf springs? why does it matter what is on there now? you should replace all 4 leafs if you are re-doing the lift any how the xj is a uni body so no body lift there… Id go by tire size if its over 32 then chances are very good its at least a 4 in no room to stuff tires in xj without trimming body..Good luck with that see ya on trails

If he used a coil spring spacer in the front measure it, its height will be the amount of lift.
