Does Messing With Your Coil & Leaf Springs Cause Any Damage To A Vehicle
Posted in Leaf Spring | Asked on Jul 29, 2010(don’t worry, i’m prepared to fix it.)
the last owners of this vehicle, melted the coil springs in the front and removed most of the leaf springs in the back to give it that “lowered” look? ..too cool i know.
i’m trying to figure out why it feels so sluggish, does that put pressure on the tires & makes it seem more heavy or what’s going on here? i know cars weigh what they do either way but i’m sure it’s got something to do with something.
i don’t even think it’s has good shocks on it.

sure it does what he did was the cheap back wood type of thing to do which really screw the car up in how it rides and drives you ca n and have to replace it all for it to ride like it should
Wow, they musta been some red-necks, thats an old hot rodding trick that i thought went out of vogue when the small block 350 came in. Anyway, it shouldn’t do anyother damage to the vehicle besides pinion angles and handling. Try a good tune-up to see if you get some power back. Cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, good luck!
