Yes you can, but you will have a very rough ride!!

i grew up cutting coils out to lower. It will make it more bouncy but not ruff at all. make sure you do not cut to much off a little bit lowers it alot. i usually cut 1 to 2 coils in the front and 2 to 3 in the back. I loved the ride after cutting the coils

You can. But I’ll tell you from know don’t do it, unless you want you truck to ride like a geriatric horse on crack. All you have to do is hit one bump and you’ll be bouncing all over the place. This is because in order to cut the springs you need to heat them up. and when you do that the springs will never be the same again. My advice is to just buy some drop springs or drop control arms if you want to get really low.

You didn’t say what kind of truck you have, but I can tell you that with almost any VEHICLE, when you cut the coils to lower it or remove leaves from a leaf spring, you are taking away the spring rate of the spring.. that means not only will it lower the vehicle but it cannot hold as much weight and therefore cannot support the weight of the vehicle when it bopunces and is going to cause it to “bottom out” much easier.
Now, even if you are willing to accept those problems, you next BIG problem you will have(if you drop the ride height 2-3 inches) is getting the wheel alignment to be adjusted back to a setting that will keep you from wearing tires.
You see, the geometry of the suspension is dependant on the ride height being correct or you will have to change the mounting points or adjustments beyond the factory positions to achieve a correct alignment. You better off to find a set of drop spindles and that way you will get the drop you want and still be able to align the front end.

If you are known as Ruff or Reddy, go right ahead!
Another Ruff method is simply heat the spring coils, and let them sag.
If you have any sense at all, either you will not lower it, or will consult a spring resetting expert. Cutting coils could land you in very hot water if you get into an accident, or could earn you close scrutiny by the law.
You have not indicated make/ model, so whether any other changes occur from lowering, will depend on the current suspension setup.

You can do that but it is not advisable. You will have a bumpy ride if you will do that. You can buy low rise springs for you to have lower front end while still having the cushion.
