Lowering Springs, Full Coilovers, Or Adjustable Coilovers…

Posted in Coil Spring | Asked on Sep 19, 2010
Below is the question about Lowering Springs, Full Coilovers, Or Adjustable Coilovers…,

I want to lower my car somewhere between an inch or two. I have a 98 dodge neon r/t with 18 inch rims on it. What is the major difference or what is better between lowering springs, coilovers & full coilovers? I was told that coil overs are better because I can always adjust the height of my car back to where it was incase I get pulled over for it being to low. I dont think I should have a problem with that since I’m not going that low. I was also told lowering springs are better cuz the car will be even all the way around and I wont have to worry about trying to even out the height on both sides of the car like u would with coil overs. If I do go with either of the 3, what all do I need (already know about camber kit) to lower my car?

Lol your spending money on a neon that isnt even a srt-4 …

I would put the adjustable coil-overs and you shouldnt need anything but the camber kit

Adjustability is cool but only good if you also know how to adjust your camber too. Tse cost id a waste too if you don’t really need the adjustments. Find some local meets and find a set of springs with the drop you like and be done with it.

If ur gonna go track go wit adjustable coilovers, if u just for looks go with the lowering springs.

Lowering springs- Will make the ride VERY harsh and prematurely wear out your shocks

Coil overs- Decent…..good for Daily Driving

    Full Coilovers- BEST….Most expensive

Id use adjustable coil overs on it to and go with the camber kit because you will need it,you wont be able to get it back in perfect alignment unless you do use the camber kit,one advantage with the adjustable ones is you can raise the height back up,that’s the reason i use them, good luck on it.
