HOW TO TURN CHECK AIR SUSPENSION DASH LIGHT OFF 1996 LINCOLN TOWNCAR

  • I had air suspension swapped out. And coil springs put on. But light stays on. The guy at the shop said he does not know how to turn off light. Thank you!
    The trunk swith is off. Can i pull a fuse to turn off?

      because the air bags are not there that light will be on. the computer sees an open circuit and triggers the light. i am surprised that the shop could not figure that out. you might be able to fool the computer by installing the ride height sensors and a resistor matching the actuators fro the rear suspension, but that would be tricky.

      Remove your glove box to access the air suspension control module. It is mounted on the AC/Heater box and it will have a black connector and a gray connector. Unplugging the black connector will turn off the “check air suspension light” but it will also disable your power steering tension (variable assist steering) control on the left side of the steering column. So after you unplug the black connector you need to remove the dark green/light green wire pin from the connector (pin #11) and then reconnect that black connector to the module. That will disable only the check air suspension light. Or to make quick work of it you can just identify that black connector to the module and cut the green wire. And be sure to isolate that wire because the “check air suspension light” will come on if it touches ground.
