Can The Protective Tubing Be Replaced On Automobile Coil Springs Or Do You Have To Replace The Springs

Asked on: July 31, 2010

The protective tubing on the coil springs has deterorated and causing a metal on metal rubbing. The coil springs are fine and I would just like to have the protective tubing replaced. Is this possible?
The coil springs on Honda Accord LE 1999 has a protective tubing covering parts of the spring to prevent metal to metal rubbing. The tubing has deteriorated and now I have a noisey suspension due to this situation. My question is do I have to replace the entire coil spring or is there a way to replace this tubing on the spring. Thanks
