Is It Normal For A Cadillac CTS’ Brakes To Squeal After I Replaced The Brake Rotors And Pads

I went to Brake Check and I replaced all four rotors and the front driver side hub assembly and replaced the brake pads but I’m still hearing a squal when I break. I feel my brakes are working better than they did before but I still hear a squal. When I spoke with the Store Director, he told me that with some models of Cadillac like my CTS there will be some squaling after all repairs are done. I just wanted to see if there was any truth to that. I would appreciate anyone’s input. Thanks in advance.

He’s full of it… brake squeal is NOT normal… sounds like there is movement in the pads… did they forget to or use the old pad clips?

No they dont. hes lyin to you. what happened is they didnt put grease where it belongs, it absorbes vibration between the pad and caliper. drive it for a week and if it keeps on with the noise take it back.

They will for a while, but they just have to be worked in a bit.

Sometimes this happen with new pads, but they should wear in in a few days, there are some hard spots on some pads that never wear in right on that pad it will have to replaced, just remember if they have replace it, it must be done in pairs not just the one making the noise. Good Luck

I have had brake pads that squeaked from day one, when they were brand new. There are some brands out there that just aren’t good quality. The squeaking may or may not go away after they get some wear on them. I used mine for a couple weeks, and the squeak was still there, so I took them off and bought a better brand, and it solved the problem.

I do NOT believe that the guy at the brake place was being honest with you. He’s either done something incorrectly, or used crappy parts.
