How Should I Get Rid Of My Car

Below is the question about How Should I Get Rid Of My Car,

I have 1999 honda accord, with 152,000 miles and more than its fair share of dents and scratches. Its brakes are squeaky and makes some crunching sounds when turning right from a botched accident repair job from a couple years back. It runs well enough though and has done a good job as a commuter car over the past years. Well I recently moved to NYC, where insurance is insane and with basic liability coverage, will cost me around $1600 for six months coverage. My kelly blue book value is supposedly only around $2000, and honestly a car isnt something I seriously need to possess at this time. Selling it seems like far more hassle than its worth, I am not sure how much I’d get and wouldnt want to deal with the potential for future headaches of an unsatisfied buyer. Would I be better off just scraping it for whatever pennies they offer?

You can either like you said scrap it for whatever it’s worth, or if the car is safe enough to drive, you can donate it and get a tax deductible.

Sell it on ebay spares or repair

Sell it on craigslist or ebay.

Headaches of an unsatisfied buyer? You’d be selling it AS-IS NO WARRANTY. As soon as they give you the cashier’s check and you do a title transfer to them . . . It’s theirs.
