How Do You Change The Rear Brakes On A 2000 Nissan Maxima

I need to change the rear brake pads on a 2000 Nissan Maxima (emergency) and I can’t seem to get the piston back in the caliper to place back on.

Pistons on Nissans get screwed in . Go to Autozone, Pepboys or the like and get a piston compression tool. It will allow pressure to be put on the piston while you rotate it clockwise. You will feel the stop when the piston gets fully retracted. They go for about $20 bucks for a good tool and they are really worth it.

    I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima too!
However, I never actually change the breaks on my own, I always take somewhere because I fear that I will forget to screw something and I’ll end up not being able to break lol.
