Fixing Up My New Car Estimate Questions
Posted in Brake Discs & Pads | Asked on May 22, 2011Well, I just got a car passed down to me, and it needs some work.
I need the brakes replaced and the driver rear caliper, how much do you think the parts and repair would cost?
Also, I need to buy a new driver’s door, because the one I have is messed up, how much would a door for a 95 mustang cost?
I only have a key to the passenger side and ignition (drivers is messed up) how much would it cost to get new keys for the car? Or better yet, a whole new lock system?
Also, it has a few spots where the paint has worn down, I don’t need a new paint job, I just need a touch up? Someone suggest getting it professionally detailed, because they’ll paint all the spots that need it for a low price?
Can I get an estimate on all of this? I would greatly appreciate it.

Brakes depends on how bad everything a caliper is about 40 dollars new pads about 20 a pair rotors about 30 a piece and work probably about 70-100 per hour 2 hours minimum.
Door from yard 75-150 depending on shape and if you pull it or not,
Re keyed on doors parts maybe 55 dollars, or you can get locks from a yard and try to rekey it or re pin the locks yourself, to have someone else do it probably 150 at least, this is not including a new ignition key which would be more expensive.
the detail which might not include paint touch up 120 for a good one, however you can by a matching bottle of paint to touch up for about 10 bucks
I guess its the mustang, You can go to Autozone and get stock or their brand lifetime replacement parts, pads and shoes about 55$ rear rotor about 40$. The Door check at a local junk yard or E bay, detailed 100-150$ 500-600 total.
Just buy a different car
Put your money in the bank and drive the car
