Posted in Brake Discs & Pads | Asked on Sep 3, 20102000 mitsubishi montero sport 3.0L 4×4
last week my brake light (not the antilock) came on so i checked my brake fluid i was a little low so i added some and it went off.
this week i replaced my front brake pads and had the rotors turned when i was putting the right caliper back on i noticed it was leaking at the seal where the pistons come in and out i put it back on any way and when i took it for a drive around the block and the anti lock light came on.
today i replaced the caliper and bleed the brake line the anti lock light is still on any ideas why this is?

Did you add the right dot value fluid??? check with your local shop thay have a computer that will read the code and tell you whats up or down in this case.
It will most likely be one of your front sensors because you recently removed the rotors. Take the rotors back off and check them. If you moved them they will not read the wheel rotation properly. The sensor reads change in voltage usually with a tooth ring and magnet. They have very small tolerances for distance between them. Lights on because the ABS computer is not recieving a correct signal from the sensor. Bad wheel bearings can also cause the gap to increase at the sensor in certain positions. This will cause the light to come on. Once you have corrected the problem the vehicle will usually have to reach a certain speed for the light to go off. Good luck.
