What Are The Noises I Hear Before The Car Starts 2001 Maxima

Below is the question about What Are The Noises I Hear Before The Car Starts 2001 Maxima,

When I turn the key to accessory (just before starting the car), I hear sounds like it’s priming something under the hood. Doesn’t sound like a fuel pump (in tank). This is definitely coming from under the hood. I also hear them right after turning it off.

The sounds are all the same. 5 times I hear the sound- sounds just like the automatic soap dispenser machines- like a small solenoid is trying to force fluid or something. I just installed a new radiator- I really don’t think I routed the transmission cooler lines in reverse (2 lines go in the main radiator) but if I did, would that explain it?

  1. Pinger says:

Fuel pump relay powers up the pump for 1-2 seconds when in accy position. I know that’s one of the noises you are hearing. IAC (Idle air control) valve is being prepositioned by the computer for start, possibly. All normal noises.
